Richard Hubbard, with Christopher Redgate
Wednesday 3 December 7.30-9.30pm

Many musicians find church an uncomfortable place to be. They feel that their creativity is stifled in church because of a fear on the part of some leaders that worship will be compromised when musicians 'perform'.

Richard considers how, as people made in God's image, we can be free to use our creative skills as worship and, in conversation with Chris, considers the tensions facing the musician who, on the one hand, wants to worship authentically, whilst at the same time being true to the sense of professionalism that their training instils in them.

Using group discussion, we will also look at how churches can encourage their musicians and enable congregations to respond to performance within worship.
