Christopher Ellis

Chris Ellis is pastor of West Bridgford Baptist Church, Nottingham. Formerly principal of Bristol Baptist College, he has pastored in Brighton, Cardiff, Swindon and Sheffield, and teaches worship and spirituality part-time at the University of Nottingham.

As well as publishing hymns, and contributing chapters to various books on worship (including The Oxford History of Christian Worship, 2006) he has co-edited the two most recent worship resource books from the Baptist Union of Great Britain. His Gathering: A Theology and Spirituality of Worship in the Free Church Tradition (SCM, 2004) is a standard text and he is currently completing  Approaching God: A Guide for Worship Leaders and Worshippers, due to be published by Canterbury Press in 2009. He is married to Marilyn who is a health manager and a musician, and they have four children and seven grandchildren.
