Chris Redgate

Christopher Redgate’s performing career has taken him all over the world and many composers have written works for him.
He has been active as a teacher both of oboe and in workshops for composers. From 1986 to 1992 he was the oboe teacher at the International New Music Course in Darmstadt. Recent teaching events have included oboe classes at the major Music Conservatoires in the UK.

He broadcasts regularly for BBC Radio Three and has several solo CDs which have received substantial critical acclaim. He is currently working on DVD performances of contemporary repertoire and is involved in developing a video/web based research resource for oboists and composers.

He is currently working on a book: Interpreting Contemporary Oboe Music. Chris is the Senior Visiting Lecture on London School of Theology’s Theology Music and Worship Degree. www.christopherredgate.co.uk
