Conference overview

Our WorshipConnect Summer Conference this year caters for a wide range of interests in music and worship. It is especially relevant to those who want to spend quality time over a number of days exploring issues and skills in a way that is not always possible in a one-day event.

One of the main features is a series of Worship Labs that give an opportunity to experience a particular style, approach or stream of worship and then spend time reflecting on it. In addition to this you will find a variety of workshops exploring contemporary creative expressions of worship; working in a band discovering fresh ways of interpreting and re-arranging songs; practical training sessions for singers helping to build vocal technique and skills within the context of worship.

A major feature will be the engageworship.org track, run by Sam and Sarah Hargreaves. enagegworship.org is a new expression of Music & Worship Foundation, aimed in particular at the 18 to 30-something age range (but if you've passed that milestone you can still come!)

Following our very well received Deep Calls to Deep Worship Symposium held in September 2008 there are a number of sessions for those who want to go deeper into worship issues. We are delighted to have Christopher Ellis and Philip Greenslade on the team who will unpack material from books that they have had published this year.

Ian Collinge covers an area of worship expression that is becoming more significant as our churches become more multi-cultural.

Add to all of this the opportunity to worship each morning and, through the teaching on worship, to have our focus fixed firmly on Jesus who is the foundation of our worship. Add to this the opportunity to make new friends and learn from each other’s experiences, this is a programme not to be missed.
